Tony Gallienne
Tony Gallienne was brought up in St Peter’s in a tomato growing family with deep roots in the Western parishes. After university, and spending a gap year trying to save the world, he returned to the island and trained as an accountant, spending his career in business in the UK and Guernsey.
He has been involved in a range of island activities being at various times, chairman of the Institute of Directors, a director of Aurigny, the first chairman of the Guernsey Arts Commission, and a founding member of the Guernsey Literary Festival.
He is currently chair of Les Cotils and the Guernsey Adult Literacy Project and a director of the Victor Hugo Centre. This is his second book on Guernsey. His first, Guernsey in the 21st Century, was published in 2007.
