Jane Mosse
Jane Mosse was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and remains a proud Geordie. As a freeman of the city she has the right to graze her cow on the Town Moor (she is yet to get the cow). After a long life in education - starting when she was four - she signed up with a lookalikes agency and has never looked back.
Her writing career began with a series of guides for boaters on the British canal network, a job she hated having fallen headlong from her mountain bike into the Coventry Canal. Poetry proved less dangerous and in 2018 she published her first collection, Guernsey Legends.
Following retirement she and her husband, Ulster-born poet Richard Fleming, embarked on a life of pet-sitting. Their adventures proved so entertaining that she wrote two volumes of stories recording their exploits: Barking Mad and Stark Raving Bonkers.
Her latest book: ‘Being Camilla’ is an hilarious account of her experience as a doppelgänger for Queen Camilla, a resemblance that has proved both amusing and, occasionally, troublesome.
She is currently working on her first historical novel ‘Blind Man’s Bluff’.
