Gwyneth Lewis

Gwyneth Lewis was National Poet of Wales from 2005-06, the first writer to be given the Welsh laureateship. A bilingual virtuoso, she writes both in Welsh, her first language, and in English. She is a librettist, has written two memoirs, and has published eight books of poetry. Chaotic Angels brings together the poems from three English collections, her latest collection is Sparrow Tree. Gwyneth wrote the six-foot-high words for the front of Cardiff's Wales Millennium Centre (as seen on Dr Who and Torchwood). In 2012, she won the Crown at Waless National Eisteddfod. Gwyneth has been confirmed as the judge of the 2017 International Poetry Competition with the Winners' Reading taking place on 10th May at the Guernsey Literary Festival.
