A Message from our Honorary Chairman, Sir Terry Waite KCMG, CBE

The older I get the more quickly the years seem to pass. I can hardly believe that another year has gone by and I shall soon be returning to Guernsey for the 2025 Literary Festival.

The Festival is great, and in the past few years, has demonstrated the fact that not only does it make a significant contribution to the cultural life of the island, but it also aids the economy by bringing many new visitors. This is undoubtedly due to the excellent local team who work so hard all year round to make each Festival a success, and to the very many local supporters who give their time so generously.

This year many of the Festival’s authors will be visiting Guernsey for the first time. I know they will receive a warm welcome as will those who come to listen and talk with them. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible. Please do approach me if you would like a few words. I am always happy to make new friends. Keep well and I hope to see you at the Festival.

Sir Terry Waite KCMG, CBE
