Vacancy for a Customer Comms & Marketing Assistant
The Guernsey Literary Festival is a major highlight in the island’s cultural calendar, bringing world-renowned writers, speakers, and thinkers to Guernsey. With a diverse programme for all ages and interests, the Festival also showcases local literary talent. Following our growing success, we are looking to expand our team with the following position.
The Role
Employment Basis: Self Employed/Part Time
Box Office & Customer Communications
• Handle all ticket sales enquiries and bookings for the festival.
• Liaise with the festival box office, Ticket Source with regards to telephone ticket sales.
• Enter event details onto Ticket Source (e.g., venue, pricing, event details).
• Manage and allocate complimentary and purchased tickets for sponsors and others.
• Handle all customer email communications regarding event changes or cancellations.
• Maintain and analyse ticket sales statistics; compile post-event reports.
• Overseeing on-site ticketing at all festival venues with the assistance of festival volunteers.
• Coordinate with Finance on ticket revenue.
Members & Patrons
• Track membership renewals and new sign-ups; manage payment records.
• Research and propose strategies to grow the membership and patrons schemes.
Marketing & Comms
• Update Festival website with events, speakers, and news.
• Assist with maintaining the Mailchimp database and tagging customer data.
• Support creation of Festival email campaigns.
• Assist with compiling and proofreading the Festival programme.
• Draft and issue press releases with support of the Festival Director.
• Provide additional marketing support as required.
Venues
• Book venues for the Festival.
• Liaise with venues on seating plans and other logistics.
Special Events
• Organise and issue invitations for: The Launch Party, The Wash-up Meal
• Assist with the organisation of the children’s parties (including arrangements and logistics).
General Duties
• Order Festival merchandise.
• Distribute printed programmes to local venues.
• Provide administrative support during the Festival period.
• Liaise regularly with the Festival Director and Finance team.

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

• Proficiency in IT and digital tools.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Experience in marketing or customer communications (desirable).
