Jacquie Bloese, author of The French House, talks about her new historical novel, The Golden Hour.

Set in the underground world of erotic photography in 1890s Brighton, it tells the story of Ellen Harper who, alongside her twin brother Reynold, runs a seemingly respectable photography business. But at the golden hour, the models arrive to pose for the illicit photographs that really keep the Harpers’ enterprise afloat … And when Ellen develops a secret obsession with her latest model, Lily, she discovers that there is only a knife edge between the promise of freedom and the threat of ruin.
