Lucy Siegle is an accomplished Guardian/Observer and BBC journalist and broadcaster, with a natural feel and passion for environmental and social justice.

From the health of the ocean and sustainable fashion, to current affairs and politics, Lucy has spoken on a range of issues related to the environment, social justice and ethical consumerism.

Building her public profile as a presenter and reporter for The One Show, BBC1’s flagship show, Lucy is entrusted with the popular strand’s biggest stories and exclusives. She exclusively interviewed the mother of one of the UK’s first so-called Jihadi brides, a story picked up by networks across the world.

She has also made contributions to BBC Radio 4’s flagship current affairs show, the Today programme.

Lucy has extensive experience in humanizing environmental science, from climate change to consumer energy use. Her gravitas was secured when she became a regular columnist for The Observer. In 2004, she created the paper’s Observer Ethical Awards (OEAs), dubbed the Green Oscars, which have been running for over eight years.

She specializes in live Outside Broadcasts and anchored Comic Relief coverage from a night market in Ghana. She also presented Miranda Hart's Comic Relief Challenges from four UK cities and occasionally seeks refuge behind the camera.

For ITN Productions, Lucy presents and produces award-winning industry films that feed into some of Europe’s biggest conferences, and is a respected contributor to live events.

Her passion and desire to bring sustainability to the fashion industry is laid out in her highly acclaimed book, ‘To Die for: Is Fashion Wearing Out The World?’ She is also the executive producer of documentary ‘The True Cost’, directed by Andrew Morgan, which is showing across the world and on Netflix.

Alongside Livia Firth, Lucy founded The Green Carpet Challenge, working with some of the world’s top designers to bring the issue of sustainable style to mainstream fashion events, such as the Oscars. Working with Gucci, the pair delivered the first-ever range of certified zero-deforested leather accessories to market – a collection of handbags at Paris Fashion Week.
